The thread protector is composed of a highly durable rubber material embedded with a spring-steel band, which offers superior abrasion resistance. It is further enhanced with an adjustable cam-type latch assembly that allows easy manual locking and unlocking. Utilizing the thread protector is effortless - simply position it over the pin-end threads of the pipe, apply firm pressure to the handle towards the center to securely fasten it in place, and pull the handle out to release.
