Casing cementing tools are also called cementing hardware, which include Centralizers, stop collars, float equipments, cementing plugs, stage tools and scratchers. They are mechanical devices commonly used in running pipe and in placing cement around casing.

Floating equipment is commonly used on the lower section of the well casing

Some basic types of floating and guiding equipment are:

1. The guide shoe, with or without a hole through the guide nose.

2. The float shoe, containing a float valve and a guide nose.

3. The float shoe and float collar, containing an automatic fill-up valve.

Plug containers hold the top and bottom cementing plugs, and come in two different versions: continuous Cementing Head and quick-change container.

Centralizers: Centralizing the casing with mechanical centralizers across the intervals to be isolated helps optimize drilling-fluid displacement. In poorly centralized casing, cement will bypass the drilling fluid by following the path of least resistance.
